Must Visit Christmas Markets and Events

The best way to get in the festive spirit is with a trip to a Christmas market. With festive-themed events popping up all over the UK, from Tipi themed bars to traditional German markets, where you can tuck into a bratwurst and enjoy a mulled wine, there’s nothing quite like a festive-themed event to get you in the mood for the big day.

Leeds Christmas Market

When: 9th November - 22nd December

The traditional German Christkindelmarkt comes to Millennium Square in Leeds every year and brings with it an array of crepe stalls, rides for the children and cute arts and crafts stands to explore, ideal for getting a few last-minute Christmas gifts. Set around the famous Bavarian beer hall, the family friendly winter wonderland features hut themed stalls serving traditional German food and drink. The Thor’s Tipi tent complete with indoor fire pits and Baileys hot chocolate also makes an appearance.

Lincoln Christmas Market

When: 6th - 9th December

Based in the beautiful historic cultural quarter, the city of Lincoln hosts a three-day long Christmas extravaganza. The streets are lined with festive lights with hundreds of market stalls selling festive gifts and sweet treats, there’s also a host of festive themed entertainment for all the family to enjoy. As one of the most family friendly Christmas markets around, it’s well worth making the trip to the city but be sure to plan ahead as it can get really busy.

Manchester Christmas Market

When: 9th November - 22nd December

Nestled in the heart of the city at Albert Square, the annual Manchester Christmas Market brings a giant glowing Santa and an array of rustic wooden huts to the bustling city. Grab a mulled wine and enjoy looking around the arts and crafts stalls before refueling with a delicious crepe and enjoying some live traditional Christmas music.

Winter Wonderland

When: 17th November - 1st January

Hyde Park’s yearly Christmas spectacular is not to be missed. A huge fun fair of rides, bars and market stalls, it’s a must-visit for anyone visiting the capital in the run up to Christmas. Get your skates on and go for a spin on the UK’s largest ice rink before enjoying a few steins in the beer hall with live bands playing Christmas classics all day long. With free entry it’s advised that you get their early to avoid the queues and make the most of the fun!
